Pairs Reins
How to set up for driving a pair with split reins
The longer length of the split goes to the inside of each horse and through a ring where they crossover. The shorter to the outside of each horse. Attach to the bits with a buckle, not a clip.
This diagram shows the benefit of using the spreaders off the inside of the collars rather than going through the rein ring on the hames.
